Indonesian's Breakfast

Hello again..

Today i want to show you Indonesian's Brakfast.. Some of you may think that we maybe have a breakfast in cafe or something, but when you live here everyday, these are our daily breakfast :


1. NASI UDUG / NASI LEMAK
It's a rice cooked with coconut milk, and we called it NASI (Rice) UDUG or NASI LEMAK (fat).
it usually served with eggs, chicken / fish, chili, and tempe.


2. NASI KUCING (Cat Rice) / NASI PERANG (War Rice)
The reason we called this dish Cat Rice / War Rice is because it's served in tiny amount of rice. So actually 1 is never will enough for you.


it usually wrapped in leaves and served with nut and terifish.

3. BAKMI AYAM (Chicken Noodles)
It's a bowl of noodles with chicken and vegetables and there are soooo many type of Bakmi Ayam based on the city the seller's from. There is Bakmi Bangka, Bakmi Medan (pork), Bakmi Betawi, etc.
But usually they are served with chicken and vegetables even though they have different taste.



4.  LONTONG SAYUR
It's molded rice and served with Curry, egg, tofu and vegetables such as squash and beans.



5. NASI KUNING (Yellow Rice)
It's basically rice, and the yellow colour is from turmeric that is cooked with the rice. The complement is the same with nasi udug/nasi lemak.




and those are some of the breakfast menus we Indonesian usually eat in the morning, before go to work/school/etc.
